Donate What You Have

As of the 2019 census, 17% of Orlando residents are living in poverty.

One Heart for Women and Children provides the critical resources and items for individuals and families as they rise out of poverty. Eligible clients in need receive necessary items and items from the thrift store as needed. Through the Volunteer for Vouchers program, for every hour volunteered, participants will receive a voucher to be used in exchange for clothing, household items and other goods. The sales from the thrift store help support the overhead and costs associated with feeding our neighbors.

While we are unable to sell some donated items in the thrift store, we are able to repurpose them in the community to those who desperately need them and cannot afford them. We appreciate your donation of any size.

Click here to view our Amazon Wishlist which has some of our most needed items and we update it often. If you decide to purchase an item from the list, add it to your cart. When you checkout, please choose “Stephanie Bowman’s Gift Registry Address” as the ship-to option.

Some tips for donating, if possible (we know it might not always be possible to do the following, but if you are able to, we would be so grateful):

  • When donating, please organize your items in a safe manner so whomever is unpacking your donation does not accidentally get hurt (ie gets stabbed by a loose knife)
  • Please wash, wipe down, or clean the items prior to donation
  • Please keep the bags or boxes to a reasonable weight for the person unloading the boxes approximately 20 pounds or less
  • Organizing by type of goods will assist us and make it easier for us to sort through
  • Please take clothing off the hangers and donate in boxes or in bags – not loose
  • Please go through purses and bags to ensure all valuables and contents are removed prior to donation
